Sometimes, making the decision to actually implement an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) can be the hardest part. However, this needn’t be the case.
First, by sitting down and working out your current cost per hire and time to hire, you can begin to outline the areas that need improvement and where/if an ATS can help. In outlining these areas, you can specify where you want your ATS to make a difference – do you need to implement a system quickly for a recruitment campaign? Do you need very strong candidate support? What will it need to integrate with? Consider all your criteria and then set out and look for an ATS provider that fulfils all your needs.
Tips and Hints #2
Reporting – reporting is key to successful campaigns in online recruitment. Know the information you want to measure so that you can capture it in the right data format. Your reports will show you where the gaps in your campaign are, which will mean you use your time improving those areas rather than having to identify them.
Maintaining – continue to invest in your system and it will continue to deliver further developments. As an industry, we are constantly evolving and your system should be keeping up with this. Different areas will need different developments. Work with your ATS provider to improve your system, they will want to help you make the most of your system as well. If they don’t, perhaps it’s time to look at the market again…
