Congratulations! You’ve convinced the powers that be that your recruitment team needs an Applicant Tracking System (ATS). That’s an achievement to celebrate in its own right. Now comes the tricky bit –making sure that your project is a success. This can be easier said than done. To give your project the best start in life, you need to carefully plan how you will roll out your new ATS companywide. Step 1: Understand your processes.
Do you thoroughly understand your recruiting process? Not just the part that you and your immediate team are involved with, but what comes one step before and after? How about three of four steps? Implementing an ATS is an excellent time to review your processes and understand them completely. An ATS can’t read your mind. If you don’t understand your processes, you won’t be able to configure a system that does. You may also find that in the process of stepping back from the day-to-day grind that you discover new ways to go about old business processes and suggestions to streamline tasks. For example, you may find you can remove steps from your vacancy approval system to make it more efficient or that you can streamline by integrating online testing. Take full advantage of this opportunity and thoroughly review your internal processes
