There' a nice article at Career Bulletin by Karen Siwak about the challenges both recruiters and candidates face in today's crazy job market. Recruiters complain about being bombarded with with CVs from ill-suited candidates, and job seekers say their resumes fall into a black hole. I've summarised the main points of Karen's article below.
For recruiters:
- Create job descriptions that clearly spell out your expectations
- Be realistic about the necessary qualifications to do the job
- Provide the name & title of a contact person.
- Provide the name & title of a contact person.
- Don’t make the recruitment process “a big black hole”
For job seekers:
- Read the job description
- Be realistic about your qualifications
- Don’t apply for jobs for which you think are clearly unsuitable to your skills and background
- Customise the resume to the specific job
- Don’t submit "Resume.doc"

In today's job market, I would recommend that a recruiter should be adaptable to advanced technology..Technology is the need of today's workplace to be more competitive and for producing effective end result....what you say?
